"Returning to myself" by Rulo Carvalho

Hello, my name is Gustavo Alexis Carvalo, and my life has been deeply connected to movement and physical well-being from an early age. Since I was five years old, sports have been my passion, and by the age of ten, dance became an essential part of my life. With an 18-year career as a professional dancer and the last five years delving into the world of yoga, I have profoundly integrated movement, dance, and energy into my existence.

My journey has led me to understand the importance of listening to our bodies and responding to their needs. Through sports, dance, and yoga, I've learned how the body responds not just to physical activity but also to our lifestyle and energy. This understanding propelled me to study physiotherapy, though I found my true calling in the art of manual massage, moving away from traditional physiotherapy equipment that didn't resonate with my holistic approach.

I discovered the healing power of touch and how, through massage, we can significantly improve physical well-being and release tension. This revelation led me to a deep connection with my body, recognizing the importance of maintaining a harmonious relationship between the body, mind, and spirit. My practice of yoga deepened this connection, teaching me that managing energy is crucial for overall well-being.

Through yoga, I discovered that I possess a special ability in my hands to channel energy and promote healing. This motivated me to explore how energy flows in the body and how it can be manipulated to alleviate physical and emotional discomfort. I observed that even those who do not engage in intense physical activities can experience tensions and blockages, especially in areas like the hips, which store a lot of energy when not adequately expressed.

My massages, which I describe as "shamanic," seek to create a communion between the physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional, inviting the recipient into a state of meditation and openness. Through touch and breathing techniques inspired by vinyasa yoga, I facilitate a process where the body releases blockages and opens spaces for new energies, promoting comprehensive healing.

The outcome of these sessions extends beyond the physical, allowing patients to become aware of the mobilized energy and how their spiritual and emotional well-being is enhanced. This approach not only offers clarity and presence in the moment but can also trigger deep meditation and emotional release, with patients experiencing everything from visions to laughter and tears, in a process as profound as the individual allows.

My intuition guides these shamanic massage sessions, often surprising patients with its accuracy and depth. Over time, I have learned to read and work with the energy of the chakras, unlocking those affected by external influences and guiding people toward a greater awareness of their emotions and how these impact their well-being.

Thus, my work seeks not only to alleviate physical discomfort but also to promote a deeper understanding of the connection between the body, mind, and spirit, offering a path toward healing and integral balance.
